M.L. : What happened later on?
Terry: John and Michelle were at that point where they were separating. and due to his perceived feeling that Michelle and I were about to become an item. he wanted me out of the group. He had found Mia, Michelle and I under a table (on LSD) just talking away. It was innocent I mean I was innocent. Oh well. the damage was done. and I was history. After I was out there was other problems between the guys until Don Adey was the lone survivor. The album was released as "JAMME" with a picture of Don and his brother Keith (who was now the bass player) on the album
cover. Not even a mention of Paul. Timmy. or myself on the album. Funny how things work out. I am quickly becoming the"Unknown Drummer".
Terrys' story continues..with the Flamin'Groovies!

Terry: The next group I attempted "stardom" with was the Flamin'Groovies. A San Francisco based group that had much notoriety in Europe. I met them through a common friend. Michelle Meyers.
They were going to be recording in the only place a true Beatle Maniac could record CAPITOL RECORDS.

I went up to meet Cyril at his house in the City. It was actually his mothers house. and it was like a Beatle shrine inside. Cyril could probably retire today if he sold all of it! We took some band photos and made it back to LA to record.

M.L. : How was it to record with them?
Terry: Beautiful. Recording in the A studio was fantastic. I had seen the Beatles run into this same building years earlier for a press conference. Lots of history here. We recorded "Shake Some Action" and "Since I Heard your Name" It was going great I had the Groovies velvet jacket look (from Granny Takes A Trip West clothes store). dark glasses and beatle boots were a must. It was all very mod and Fab Gear. Only one problem. I would have to move into Cyrils' house in San Francisco. I probably would have done it but Kim Fowley was skulking around Capital Records
that day also. and had a better idea.

M.L: What was his idea?
Terry: The birth of a concept. New York had its' DOLLS. so why couldn't LA have a its' STARS? It was 1974 and there was Glitter everywere! Why not THE HOLLYWOOD STARS? Kids off the streets of Hollywood with tough songs and attitude. He used the same concept putting together
an all girl group. The Runaways.

M.L. : He did the same with you guys?
Terry: Yes. Kim Fowley put together the five of us and helped us write songs. rehearse and shopped us around to the Major record companies. We played the street clubs until we were signed by Pacific Presentations. and Sepp Donahower to manage the group. Before long we signed a recording deal with Columbia and were in the Studio. The Record Plant was the craziest place in town. I had been put in the fast lane for success again. We played the Whisky and the Starwood constantly. and big groups like "the Tubes" or "Journey" would open for US! We didn't even have a
record out yet but we had good management.
